Big Spoon v. Small Spoon

I’m a cereal lover. Big Spoon or Small Spoon?

Smart Start, Raisin Bran, Frosted Mini-Wheats…and sometimes LE’s Frosted Flakes.

I don’t eat cereal in the morning as I prefer to start the day with something warm (not to mention the mild lactose intolerance and its associated effects that wouldn’t be appreciated at the office).

But there are times when a bowl of cereal is just the right snack.  In those moments, I get out a Fiestaware bowl and a BIG SPOON.

I’m a big spoon kind of guy.  I’ll use the big spoon for cereal and soup. The smaller spoon are primarily used only for coffee.

What’s Your Preference?

Do you use the big spoon or the small spoon more frequently?  Do the big spoons eer get used in your house? (Hey, this is important stuff, you know? ;-) )

Me: Big spoons for soup, small spoons for everything else, cereal included.

Husband: Big spoons for everything but coffee.

Jack, aged 2: If he could, he’d use a ladel.

Interesting. Why do we choose them that way? What formative life experiences led to our ultimate spoon choices?

Naomi – Never just a Plain-Jane comment from you. ;) I see you’re going to stimulate my noggin to consider the various psychosocial factors that drive our spoon choices. OK, so be it. I’m up for the challenge.

(Barry puts on graduation cap, consider all the research on the subject, and formulates his response.)

Here it is -the definitive answer to the question that has perplexed mankind for generations- mouth size.

Could explain a lot of things. ;)
