Foto Friday – “Still a Princess”

With all the drama of recent weeks, many of my blog posts have been focused on LE and the issues surrounding him. I can become consumed with the present moment and forget about the wonderfulness that life has to offer.

Granted,  a lot of crap has come my way in life… an early encounter with polio at age 3 that was corrected by wearing special shoes in lieu of Forrest Gump type leg braces; a nasty case of encephalitis at age 13, and of course, my experiences with domestic violence as an adult.

Resilience comes from within and my older kids are fuel for that fire.

Nearly 25 years ago, I looked into Bethany Sara’s eyes for the first time. Life has never been the same.

Now she’s married and nurturing her own little prince… or will it be a princess…;-)

Of my four kids, she’s the only one who shares my love of Starbucks Coffee (although LE is rapidly becoming a frappuccino fan). A few years ago I gave her a Starbucks solo-coffeemaker at Christmas.

And when Father’s Day or my birthday rolls around, I can always count on my favorite gift from her: a plastic card with a few Grande-Sugar-Free-Hazelnut-Extra-Hot-No-Whip-Mochas pre-loaded.

At a recent event with friends she discovered the perfect cuppa..one that’s as sweet as she is. She turns 25 the day after my son’s wedding at the end of this month.

And yes, she’s still my Princess.
